    Abdul Waheed Patel is the CEO of ETHICORE and President of its Africa Government Affairs Exchange (AfricaGX). More than 20 years experience as a government affairs and political consulting expert. His specializes in political strategy, stakeholder and public policy advocacy and lobbying and strategic communications.

    He provides strategic counsel to domestic, regional and global companies and trade associations across a wide range of key economic sectors. He has been a member of the South African Government delegation to the UN Commission on Sustainable Development and a member of the Economic Commission for Africa’s Marrakech Task Force on Sustainable Consumption and Production.

    In 2010-2011, he served on the Task Force led by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, for the development of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, convened by the UN Human Rights and the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights.
    He is the President of the African Lobbying Union and the Chairperson of the South African Lobbying Association. He is member of FIPRA International Network’s Global Advisory Board as well as the Network’s Regional Lead

    Wisahl provides government relations, advocacy, and policy communications for local and international firms, industry associations and grassroots organizations. Wisahl was a current affairs journalist specializing in political content creation and analysis as well as a government affairs and public policy adviser to a prominent mobile health technology company.

    Wisahl’s experience and expertise covers public policy and political analysis, advocacy and stakeholder engagement. Her expertise includes a strong grounding in all aspects of public opinion analysis, public rhetoric, public argumentation and political behavioural research.
    She has been an attendee and participant at the OECD Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum, including membership of its ‘Coalition of Influencers’ and Dialogue on Influence.

    Wisahl was previously a member of the FIPRA International Network’s Quality and Ethics Committee and has been a member of the International Bar Association
